Yolanda Jinxin Ma is an award-winning cross-disciplinary professional, always finding the space for data and technology to make the most impact. She is currently Digital Transformation Specialist at the United Nations Development Programme, where she focuses on bringing digital technologies (including data) to the development space.

Before UNDP, Yolanda worked for Thomson Reuters on a pioneering data visualization project on China’s power patronage networks. Before that, she developed and drove social media practice for the South China Morning Post, one of Asia’s top English-language newspapers, as its first Social Media Editor.
Since 2012, Yolanda has been actively introducing data journalism to China and later across Asia through various channels including online initiatives, offline workshops, conference speaking, as well as and a Massive Online Open Course that attracted more than 4000 attendees in the region.
